Successful Customer Gathers From The Field Provide Tips And Suggestions That Will Help Your Closer Rate

Helpful items to have on hand when gathering customers
TEXAS
1. List of rates
2. Enrollment Forms
3. Flyers
4. Ambit Fax Number 1-800-508-9850
5. Verification phone number 1-866-942-6248
1. Most customers in Texas do they’re “shopping” by rates. Our rates are very low, and even if you do not totally understand what it all means, chances are a Texan will. The main thing you will need in Texas is a list of the rates.
2. If you are signing up someone and you do not have access to the internet at the time, have an Enrollment form with you. You can print off copies of enrollment forms by logging into your power zone-Business Tools-Customer Tools- then in the section that says Forms click on New Customer Enrollment Form (also available in Spanish).
3. Texas has 5 different service provider areas we work with. Oncor, Centerpoint, AEP-N, AEP-C, and TNMP. These companies service the lines and read the meters. It is also helpful, and will look more professional, to have a flyer with the appropriate area. Flyers have a list of the rates and have a brief description of all the other benefits (like free travel) you will have just for trying our service (also available in Spanish). If you are not sure what service area you need, have the zip code ready, your consultant ID number and power zone password and call consultant support at 1-877-218-1823 Flyers are located in your Power Zone-Business Tools-Customer Flyers.
4. In some cases a deposit may be required. If a deposit is required, in Texas you have 2 options on getting that deposit waived. Option 1: If they have had electricity in they’re name before, and haven’t been late more then a few times in the past year, they can call they’re past energy provider and have them fax over a Letter Of Credit to Ambit at 1-800-508-9850. You will still need to continue the order form by clicking “pay later” so they get a customer account number. Verify the order with them anyway and let them know they are still going to ask them if they agree to pay the deposit or not. They can say yes to this question-they will not be billed the deposit. Once the deposit has been paid or waived the soonest we can get service turned on will be 3 to 5 business days after that. Option 2: They can become a consultant. If they want to become a consultant they can get up to $225 of the deposit waived. If they are interested in this option then you should sign them up as they’re own first customer, then they only need one more for the bonus, plus they can not only start getting paid with Ambit, they can work on getting FREE energy at the same time. This is a very popular option.
5. After a customer has been enrolled and they have a customer account number, verify the order with the 3rd party company by calling 1-866-942-6248.

ILLINOIS
1. Terms of Service
2. Customer Enrollment Form
3. Flyer
4. Nicor “it’s safe to switch” page
5. Citizens Utility Board “The Gas Market Monitor” page
6. Verification Phone Number 1-800-506-3151
1. It is part of our agreement with the Illinois Commerce Commission that we provide the Terms of Service for each Illinois customer before they agree to become our customer. The terms of service is a 2 page document that discusses things like; our written guarantee, travel rewards points, deposits, late fees ext…just typical legal information that protects us and the customer. You can print out this document in your power zone and clicking on Business Tools-Customer Tools-Illinois Terms of Service (at the bottom). Remember, when the customer verifies the order, they will be asked if they have “received” or had a chance to “read” the Illinois terms of service. If they say no to this question, the order will not be verified and they will not be our customer at that time. It is important to let your customer know they will be asked this question, and to show them the document that they will be answering yes to. If for some reason they get confused and fail the verification, you will need to call consultant support
1-877-30-AMBIT and have them re-submit the order so you can try and verify it again.
2. If you are signing up Illinois customers in person, and you don’t have the internet handy, fill out an enrollment form so you can take it home and enter it in the computer later. You can print off copies of enrollment forms by logging into your power zone-Business Tools-Customer Tools- then in the section that says Forms click on New Customer Enrollment Form (also available in Spanish).
3. It is also helpful, and will look more professional, to have a flyer (also available in Spanish). Flyers have a brief description of all the other benefits (like free travel) you will have just for trying our service. Flyers are located in your Power Zone-Business Tools-Customer Flyers.
4. The power to choose your gas supplier is still a little new in Illinois, unlike Texas. You will find that 95% of the people did not even know they could change they’re gas supplier. Nicor has a website you can go to that has a picture chart and a description on what Nicor’s role is and why it is totally safe to switch suppliers. This is one of the most helpful tools out there for Illinois. You can print this by visiting www.nicor.com Click on the “residential” tab at the top. Then on the left side click on “choosing your supplier”. You can also click here and go straight to it:
http://www.nicor.com/en_us/residential/choosing_your_supplier/default.htm
5. The Citizens Utility Board is kind of like the “watch dog” on utility companies that range from water, gas, electricity and phones. You can read more about what they do by going to www.citizensutilityboard.com and clicking the “about” tab at the top left side. You can also click here: http://www.citizensutilityboard.org/mission.html
When you visit the site click on “natural gas” located on the left side in blue. Then you can scroll down a little to the 3rd section of topics. Located in the box with the label Has The "Gas Company" Tried To Sell You A New Deal? Click on the words in blue that say The Gas Market Monitor. It will then take you to a page that lists all the suppliers for Nicor. You will see there is only ONE company that saves customer 100% of the time, and of course it’s Ambit Energy. You can print this page just to have as an extra credibility. You can also click on each individual name and see a break down of months companies saved/loss. I recommend printing out each “break down”. When doing this some companies have 15 pages to print. When your printer options box comes up, select 1 page of 1. It’s easier to look at when it’s just one page for each company. (You will also see there are some months that we save a whole lot more then 1%. And it’s in the months that matter the most-The Winter.) You can also click here to view:
